"STUDIO COACHING"
GROUP CLASS DOG TRAINING OUTLINE

DESCRIPTION:
6 weeks long, 1 hour per week, class with both dog and owner. The owner does the training, I do the coaching.

PRE-REQUISITES:
Prior to taking this course, the dog must have solid obedience training which should include, sit stays, down stays, on and off leash name recall, and leave it. Dogs must be social and friendly with both people and other dogs to enroll in this course. All dogs must be updated on vaccines including DHLP, Rabies, and Bordetella with proof of updated vaccines before coming to class.

COSTS:
The cost for this class is: $175.00 per dog for the entire 6 week course. Payment can be made up front (cash or checks only) or students can pay $30.00 per each class. I accept a total of 5 students per class for maximum benefit of training and one on one time.

Here is a list of behaviors that we will work on during the 6 weeks:

  • Sit stays and down stays (under multiple distractions)
  • Go To
  • Watch Me / Watch It
  • Go With
  • On Your Feet (standing)
  • Speak
  • Coming to a Mark
  • On Your Side
  • Back Up

GUARANTEE & REFUNDS:
Because all dogs have different personalities, backgrounds and learning curves I do NOT offer any guarantee that every behavior will be learned. The only circumstance in which I will refund money is if you have pre-paid the entire class in advance and you find that your dog does not enjoy studio training after the first class. You will be refunded $145.00 / total (for the remaining 5 weeks). If your dog shall become ill or you have to postpone classes due to some emergency, the remaining balance that has been pre-paid will be credited towards future classes. If you miss a class in a non-emergency and have pre-paid, you can only make it up after the 6 week course is over and once the new 6 week class begins. I will not give any private sessions for any missed classes.

REPRESENTATION:
If your dog graduates this 6 week training course, it is possible that I might offer your dog full representation as a studio dog listed on my business website: www.animalsavvy.net. This would mean your dog would be eligible to be hired for studio jobs that I feel he or she is qualified for. I do not make any guarantees that your dog will ever be hired for studio work. Any studio work your dog is hired for will be compensated. The amount of compensation is dependent on the job.

"ONE ON ONE STUDIO COACHING"

DESCRIPTION:
I will coach the owner how to train their own dog studio tricks & behaviors. This will be a one hour class per week with just the owner and the dog. The time and location will vary each week depending on my availability. Some classes will be indoors and some outdoors.

PRE-REQUISITES:
Prior to taking this course, the dog must have solid obedience training which should include, sit stays, down stays, on and off leash name recall, and leave it. Note: Dogs do not have to be dog friendly since this will be one on one.

This class cost $75.00 per class or $450.00 / total for the entire 6 week course. Payment can be made up front (cash or checks only) or students can pay $75.00 per each class. This class is for just the trainer, owner, and dog.

"PRIVATE, IN HOME STUDIO DOG TRAINING"

DESCRIPTION:
There is limited availability for this course. I have limited space at my home, so I can only accept one dog at a time (per month) for this class and my pre-requisites are strict. There is a frequent request for this type of training because people are busy in their own lives and may not have time to do the training themselves or they might not have time to take the weekly group class. I will be up front in saying that this course is much more costly than my other classes because not only does your dog get daily individual training but the costs also includes overnight boarding, feeding, regular exercise such as daily hikes in the canyon, socialization outings to the park, and accompanying me to set whenever I book a studio job to get familiar with the lights, camera’s, etc.

PRE-REQUISITES:
Prior to taking this course, your dog must have taken a basic obedience class and should be able to respond to the commands sit, stay, down, leave it, on and off leash name recall. Your dog should be completely house trained, and be comfortable traveling in a crate. All dogs must be social and friendly with both people and other dogs to enroll in this course. If your dog is more than 35 lbs and is cat aggressive, I cannot accept him into my home because I have three dog friendly felines. Dogs will be tested by me before being accepted. All dogs must be updated on vaccines including DHLP, Rabies, and Bordetella with proof of updated vaccines before coming to my home.

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:
The Studio Training course is 4 weeks long or a maximum of 6 weeks long (with 2 optional bonus weeks). This means that you may only get to see your dog once or twice in this span of time. Training will be taught daily by me personally. Throughout each day your dog will get continuous training sessions over a period of 8 hours. Each training session lasts from 5 to 15 minutes maximum. In the evenings your dogs will be exercised with my own pack and then we will enjoy TV and cuddle time at night. Your dog will not only receive constant training but also learn the dynamic of functioning in a pack of dogs. I also have a doggie pool and my house has AC for those days it’s just too hot to go outside. My house is 100% dog proof and there are loads of dog toys and daily treats are plentiful.

It is very important that your dog already have a basic level of obedience training before coming to my home for this class. If I have to focus on any aspect of obedience (which is often required before teaching certain tricks), it will take away from the time I have to train studio tricks. For example, if your dog does not have a solid off leash recall and I want to teach him to come to a mark outdoors, I will have to work with your dog on his recall prior to training him to come to a mark. I will address any obedience problems but I don’t want to get caught up with a lot of behavioral issues. I am happy to refer those who are seeking obedience training to our in-house trainer, Candy Clemente. Candy not only offers obedience training but also offers agility training in Agua Dulce, CA.

COSTS:
4 week training course (minimum of 4 week stay for training to be effective) is $500.00 per week (due the Monday of each week – IF paying weekly) or $2000.00 / total up front. Payments can also be paid with half up front and half upon dogs pickup.

6 week training course (standard course with 2 bonus weeks) is $2800.00 / total. If paying weekly it is $500.00 per week for the first 4 weeks and $400.00 per week for the last two weeks. Payments can also be paid with half up front and half upon dog’s pickup.

Here is a list of behaviors that we will work on during the 4 weeks:

  • Solid Sit Stays and Down Stays (under multiple distractions in new places)
  • Coming to a Mark
  • On Your Side
  • Watch Me / Watch It
  • On Your Feet (standing)
  • Foot / Paw
  • Speak (depending on dog)
  • Beg Up (depending on dog)
  • Head Down (6 week class only)
  • Circle (6 week class only)

GUARANTEE & REFUNDS:
Because all dogs have different personalities, backgrounds and intelligence, I can NOT guarantee that every behavior will be learned successfully in the 4 week period. In the past I have found that most dogs learn all their tricks plus a few extra’s to surprise mom and dad upon pickup. On the opposite end, some dogs do not take to studio training at all. If that is the case, I will know within the first week and will let the owners know if it is not working out and will ask that the dog be picked up. If the owner has paid for the entire course in advance, then 3 weeks will be refunded and we will only charge for the 1st week of training. I will charge a minimum for 1 week of training to compensate myself for the time in evaluating and caring for your dog. Because this type of training is very specialized, not every dog is meant to do it. Every dog likes to learn but not every dog can handle the repetition that studio training requires, the intense amount of distractions, and the pressure of performing in front of a large film crew. My goal is to give your dog the opportunity to do studio work but I will in no way force your dog to do anything she doesn’t want to do. I will be in constant communication with every dog’s owner via phone or e-mail. I do not want anyone to waste your money on training so I will always be up front and honest. If I feel your dog is not doing well in the program, and if you have pre-paid in advance, you will be refunded $1500 (for 3 weeks, if taking the 4 week class) within 78 hours of your dog’s return to you. The only other way I will refund your money is if your dog becomes ill. For all other reasons, your money will be credited for future training.

REPRESENTATION:
If your dog graduates from the 4 or 6 week training course, I will offer your dog full representation as a studio dog listed on my business website: www.animalsavvy.net. This would mean your dog would be eligible to be hired for studio jobs that I feel he or she is qualified for. I do not make any guarantees that your dog will ever be hired for studio work. Any studio work your dog is hired for will be compensated. The amount of compensation is dependent on the job.
